DVS Skate Shoes - Winter 2008 Collection
By Geoff Wheeler

DVS Skate Shoes
DVS is one of my favourite skate shoe brands. And not just because my favourite skater is on their team, Daewon Song, but because they make great solid skate shoes that not only perform great but look awesome as well.

For Winter 2008 DVS doesn't disappoint. The season gives us some killer signature shoes from pros like Steve Berra, Daewon Song and Tim Gavin. Features on the new 2008 shoes include:low profile flexible cup soles, Sure-fit elastic support, split lace option and DVS patiented "Bruise control light" This feature is 3 piece constructed system to help stop your feet from sustaining damage and bruising. "Bruise control light" is the next level in bruise control systems and this technology seems to be the big new feature on the winter DVS shoes this year. Nothing like added protection while keeping you light on your feet... makes things much easier.

In this article I'm going to give a brief run down on which ones are my favourites for this winter season.

Berra 5: The Berra five series is the newest pro signature skate shoe from DVS for pro skater Steve Berra. These are really great skate shoes. They have a three piece constructed out sole. Easy fitting elastic straps, DVS special Bruise Control Light technology and of course non slip rubber gum bottoms. I would say these are some of the lightest DVS shoes made and am very impressed with them. They have so many more excellent features like reinforced ollie areas, lace protection and custom printed heel.

DVS Skate Shoes
One of my favourite skate shoes out this year for sure!

Daewon 10: Another awesome signature skate shoe from my favourite pro, Daewon Song. Tested and designed by Daewon himself, these new shoes are top of the line is performance and durability. They feature one piece easy stay, Mesh tongue, a new out sole and innovative interlocking toe panels. This is a great shoe for any serious skateboarder. Supreme comfort style and performance are yours with the Daewon 10 series from DVS.

Gavin CT: The latest pro series from professional skateboarder Tim Gavin. These kicks come in a variety of colors and feature a great non-slip out sole. They also feature the New Bruise Control Light technology, like most new signature DVS shoes, and they have a special perforated foam inside for major foot heat reduction. Keeping you as cool and comfortable as humanly possible during your skate sessions.

As you can see DVS is on the cutting edge of skate shoe technology and I expect great things from them in the future.

How to Customise Nike Skateboarding Shoes
By Claire L Andrews

Skateboarding Shoes
Nike skateboarding shoes come in a number of different colours and styles, but Nike differ in that they do allow their customers to create their own custom skateboarding shoes on their website. Not all customers are going to be computer-savvy individuals, which is why it's necessary to know exactly how to use the website's unique software.

Open Up

First of all, it's necessary to open the website to access the software. This is done by using the individual's desired browser to travel to the official Nike website. This can either be done by typing the web address into the address bar of the chosen browser or by performing a Google search and then clicking on the desired result.

Nike ID

When the official Nike website has been successfully reached, the user should then scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click on the "Nike ID" button. Users should then filter their choices by selecting the necessary gender, choosing "Footwear" from the different types of products presented, and then clicking on "Action Sports" Finally, users should click on the Nike skateboarding shoe to enter the area of the Nike website where a custom pair of skateboarding shoes can be created.

Start from Scratch

Users will then be presented with the option of starting from scratch by clicking on the "Start Blank" option or they can start by choosing one of the default models displayed on the page. The choice is entirely up to the user, but if the purchaser just wants to change the colour of the shoe then it's recommended that a default model is chosen because this will save both time and effort.

Creating the Shoe

The shoe can then be created by selecting the blank shoe and choosing the desired material and colour. These options will then be placed on to the shoe so it's easy to see what it looks like. Performance options can now be chosen; this can include anything from tongue padding, midsole, outsole, and collar options. And that's not all, because all these things can include different graphics, sizes, and just about anything else that can be thought of. The options available will differ depending on which initial colours and materials are chosen.

Finishing and Billing

The process is then completed and all there is left to do is choose which gender the shoe is for and the size of the shoe. The user should then click on the "Add to Cart" button and then fill out their billing and delivery information. All the customer then has to do is wait and their Nike skateboarding shoes should be with them within a couple of weeks, although this depends on the chosen method of delivery.
